Amrita University Placements.
Like every 12th pass out I was searching for the best university to pursue my higher education. I wrote entrance exams for around 15–20 colleges.
One of the filters for me (like everyone else )while selecting the college were the placements. What are the companies coming to the college? What is the highest CTC, average CTC and many others? But after I wrote the exams I realised that the only exam I had a decent rank in was AEEE (Amrita Engineering Entrance exam). It was around the 3,500 mark. Everything else other than Manipal was above 20,000.
When you have one or two colleges to choose from the filters become redundant. So I went for counselling and got a seat in ECE in the Amritapuri campus. I later switched to CSE after the first semester (branch shifting was an option given to students based on the semester 1 results).
Fast forward to 2022 and life was hell, I spent more than half my B.Tech days at home (the worst thing that could happen to anyone). The 6th semester just ended with online exams and the placement season was about to begin in another 2 weeks.
The Placement Season.
The faculty put in a lot of effort to help us prepare for the placement season. We had 2 weeks of classes on placement preparation and all the important concepts from semester 1 were refreshed. In those 2 weeks, we had classes ranging from advanced topics to how to behave and present yourself in an interview and company-specific questions. In the 5th and 6th semesters, we had problem-solving classes that helped us in solving the coding questions. So we were equipped with almost everything to crack the companies.
But to what use is all this if companies don't visit your campus and this is where I was amazed at how many companies visited our campus.
Our placement season started with a bang with Cisco being the first company that visited the campus on 28th May. From then on there was no turning back with 96 companies (as of the date of writing the article ie. 30th September) that visited the campus with 52 of them offering a CTC of above 10LPA!!
I am attaching a list of companies that visited the campus. This list will be updated whenever a new company visits the campus. The companies in bold are the ones that offered a CTC of above 10LPA.
